Rodrigo is an Assistant Research Scientist in the Center for Tropical & Emerging Global Diseases and Institute of Bioinformatics at UGA, and is lead on the Parasite Evolutionary Genomics Research Group in the Kissinger Lab. He assists Jessie with supervising undergraduate and graduate researchers in the lab, and collaborates with many labs at UGA. His work primarily focuses on Cryptosporidium. He also has many collaborations with other researchers at UGA and around the world, and uses all kinds of "omics" data to better understand the biology and evolution of parasites. Rodrigo left the lab in 2022 and moved to Houston Methodist to begin his own research group!
